On 22nd January 2024, officials from the National Health Committee held a meeting on-line with the health organisations active in Karenni State led by the Health Department of Interim Executive Council of Karenni State.
At the meeting, the Health Department of Interim Executive Council of Karenni State led the discussion on the present healthcare work that is taking place, difficulties that healthcare work is facing and future healthcare work with members, who are providing frontline healthcare work, of Doctors’ Society of Karenni, Karenni Nurses Association, Karenni Midwives Society, Civil Health and Development Network (Karenni State) (CHDN), Rural Health Society Myanmar.
The National Health Committee noted that it was proud of the common goals, standards, and coordinated healthcare activities in the Karenni State and it is particularly grateful to, and proud of the health organisations taking the lead in the health sector.
Members of various groups also shared and discussed the challenges they faced on the ground and their views on policies, objectives, and expectations of each healthcare group.
Delegates attended the conference included officials from the National Health Committee (NHC), officials from the Ministry of Health (MOH), National Unity Government (NUG) of Myanmar, officials from the Health Department of the Interim Administrative Council of Karenni (IEC), officials from the health organisations operating in Karenni State, health officials from state/federal units, and invited guests.
